Saint-Nazaire: Urban living by the sea
You have recently made the decision to come and live in Saint-Nazaire: welcome ! On this page we have gathered together all the information and guidance you will need to help you settle in.
There are also brochures and information available at reception in the Town Hall and in other key locations around the town in which you will find useful contacts (administrative, social, and emergency services, etc.) as well as numerous municipal, community and tourist activities.
In November La Ville de Saint-Nazaire, together with AVF (national organisation Accueil des Villes Françaises), is organising a meeting at the Town Hall for new arrivals to the town. This will be an opportunity for Saint-Nazaire’s elected officials to welcome you and to present the town.
During this session there will be a presentation of council services with the option to sign up for guided visits of the town, to take place on the afternoon of the ceremony. The ceremony will close with a welcome drink, at which it will be possible to chat and ask any potential questions around your arrival and settling in Saint-Nazaire.

AVF (Accueil des Villes Françaises) which supports residents moving to new towns across France) is also available to support you. The organisation’s volunteers can help you to settle in, to integrate and to participate in cultural activities. Your next steps towards life as a citizen
To register on Saint-Nazaire’s electoral roll, go to the Town Hall’s registry office (service Etat Civil) and take a recent proof of address (utility bill, rent receipt etc.) as well as a valid identity document (identity card, passport or driving license).
